forget the lower two... is the same tune had to max the load cell out to get those numbers  had problem with the optical pick-up as well:(
leaks none that i know off.... got ~9,000 on the motor since we put it together3 months ago

i am guessing that 19xxx of rail pressure had alot to do with it

Winter fuel?
What wastegate mods?
Did you decrease comp ratio on the build?
malibu795
02-13-2009, 04:07 PM
Winter fuel? most likely im in ohio
What wastegate mods? banks big head
Did you decrease comp ratio on the build?
i have no idea which way CR went..... probly down...
the .040 piston were machined down to wiegh the same as the .020 piston that was orginally balanced with...
safe bet CR is not 17.5:1

02-13-2009, 04:11 PM
Well, if you indeed have winter fuel that should account for some of it. And begging the OE charger for 33psi..borrowed time..:D
How much boost do you see on the street? Similar to what you got in Cali before you left?
malibu795
02-13-2009, 04:20 PM
i can hold 35psi in 5th wiht the new motor... it was 32psi with the old.. haven backed the gate off

iirc started in 5th rich(maddog) loaded it kick down to 4th then shifted back to 5th and he finished it out.
that was before i started messing with shift point.. currently 4-5 is 103mph with 35's

Dyno jet? I was told they were no good for our trucks???, I dyno'd 460 and 851 in NOv on a Dynojet I was very dissapointed, I have twin lift pumps, and everything seems to be right on. Another guy, same year truck with no LP and a PPE hot +2 puts down 470 and 925????? I am going to try a Mustang (load cell) dyno!

x2 2850 and 28 psi boost netted me
503 and 1080 the more boost netted lower hp and higher tq on my truck with stock charger.3000us and 28 psi netted me 530 and 1080

no two truck are the same.
even more so when compareing LB7 to LLY, LBZ, LMM
X2 pressure is my friend..
all in all its not a bad starting point... really
given the tune really hasnt been changed since i put the new engine in. given the fact that the piston and bowls, compression and cam(06 lbz which is debatable weather it is different between that and a LB7  ), compression ratio have all been changed to one extent or another
finally got my mpg today as well 410 to 26 gallons weighing 9,200lb ( 2,000# of sand in the back)= 15.7 mpg with alot of idle time and winter grade fuel.. this include the dyno pulls as well

what pressure are you guys running i've never tried over 25000-26000 psi how high can you go safely ? current tune is around 3100 usec @ 25000 psi holds about 21k-22k rail pressure through the 1/4 .

Get you pressure up you will like what you see. I did 507 on Dynojet with winter fuel. Stingpuller, Fingers, Minisub where there. On LB7s I never really had to change the fueling to get the power. The timing is what varied. But what do I know. :cool2:

I wouldnt worry about it, duramax's are wierd on the dyno.
With the stock original engine and BD turbo, my 7680lb truck trapped 107mph easy in the 1/4 mile. I think it dyno'd like 450-460 or something silly like that.

The ET calculator is close 465hp@7200 pounds. Still not bad for stock turbo and 2wd.
